Give your students an unforgettable experience.
The first reaction every time a class steps through our front doors is universal: “whoa!”. Just being inside the museum building can be enough to change a child’s perspective, but there’s so much more. A visit to the Langlade County Historical Society Museum makes for an excellent learning experience for anybody! All students of any grade are invited along with their instructors to participate in this hands-on learning experience about local and regional history. A combination of photographs, artifacts, outdoor exhibits, group discussion, and related classroom activities will help bring history to life and compliment any social studies or history course. Our school tours take your class from the Wisconsin Glaciation of 10,000 BCE to the railroad heyday of the early 1900s, helping to give kids a new perspective on daily life and technology, as well as giving them a better understanding of where their community comes from.
If you would like to schedule a tour for your class, please fill out and submit the form below. Somebody from our educational program will contact you to follow up and discuss things in more detail. Although the form is skewed towards Langlade County schools, we have also served virtual schools and schools from other counties, so please select your school as “Other” and specify in the “Other Information” text box. If you would like to schedule an educational tour for a non-school group, such as a historical society or seniors’ group, please contact us directly.
Supplementary materials are also available. Click here to view or download an informational packet containing tour details, learning material, and post-tour class activities. Click here for the digital version of a brochure describing the school tours program.
