The annual meeting of the Langlade County Historical Society will take place on Thursday, October 3, at Swartzentruber's Supper Club at 1315 Forrest Avenue.
We will begin at 4 p.m. with a social gathering. At 5 p.m. dinner will be served, followed by a business meeting where we will elect officers. There will be a business meeting that will include a summary of our financial status and an update on some of our programs.
The program will follow with a presentation by Otto Tiegs, entitled “Breweries.” Mr. Tiegs is a local historian and a collector of brewery artifacts and his presentation will be focused on the two local breweries that were in the city of Antigo--“Antigo Brewery” and the “Citizen Brewery”.
Swartzentruber's will be offering a choice of poorman’s lobster or broasted chicken accompanied by a baked or twice baked potato. Everyone will receive a house salad, buns, coffee, and 440 cookies.
The cost is $25 per person. Details and a reservation form are contained in a separate insert in this newsletter.
Please respond by September 20 if you would like to attend and indicate your menu choices so that we may plan accordingly.
